About me

I have sought training in attachment theory, family systems, psychodynamic theory, somatic psychology, mindfulness, expressive arts, play therapy, EMDR, and internal family systems (IFS). In a concentrated learning experience, I trained personally with Bessel van der Kolk, author of The Body Keeps the Score.

I am currently enrolled in the three-year Somatic Experiencing Professional Training program to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). Somatic Experiencing is a body-oriented modality that helps heal trauma and other stress disorders, developed by trauma expert Dr. Peter Levine.

I am part of Beyond Psychology Center, a somatic and depth psychotherapy practice. And I am an alumni of the child and family practice North Star Families, where I trained under clinical psychologist Dr. Wendy Denham.

Prior to private practice, I provided psychotherapy to adults, teens, and couples at Counseling West, a community clinic grounded in psychodynamic and family systems approaches. I also served as a therapist for children, families, and teachers within a charter elementary and middle school.

I have previous careers in both education and business. I taught visual art to ages 2–18 in school settings in Los Angeles, including preschool, public schools, and independent schools. And before that, I worked in brand strategy for advertising agencies in New York and Los Angeles. In the space between these careers, I spent several years exploring some of the world’s wild places.

I hold a MS in Counseling from California State University, Northridge and a BA in Leadership Studies from the University of Richmond.

In my free time, I enjoy creating art, practicing yoga and dance, and spending time in nature.
